In the name of ALLAH, the most beneficent, the most merciful.
The Nigerian Muslim Community Hampshire, UK, was formed in the Portsmouth area of the UK in April 2023 by a group of Nigerian Muslim living in the area. A few months later, it was agreed to extend the membership of the community to include the whole of Hampshire County Council of the United Kingdom.
The Prophet (SAW) said:
“The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever.” [Bukhari and Muslim]
Our aim is to promote religious and social interactions within the Nigerian Muslim community and to identify and tackle the many issues plaguing the local Nigerian muslim whilst also acting as ambassadors of Islam.
As a community, we are being guided by our core objectives, missions, and vision, which are:
*Objectives:*
1. To uphold the principles of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
2. To help seeking of knowledge for children, parents, the wider community eg Qur’an classes etc.
3. Community welfare – helping each other in whatever ways we can, e.g, matchmaking, support group/platform.
4. Establish activities for the community.
